I'm a Registered Nurse who does a little sewing on the side.

I work full-time, Monday thru Friday and sew on the weekends. I do not work or sleep what most people consider normal hours. Orders are usually finished in 2-3 weeks.

Nursing was a very late in life change for me. I was THE oldest nurse in my UTEP classes, with a majority of my classmates being the same age as my two daughters! My girls are grown and married and encouraged me to start sewing for profit.

My oldest daughter is also an RN and asked me to make her some scrub caps for work. I soon had orders from her co-workers and nurses I graduated with.

With the start of COVID-19 and a month off work due to drastically reduced surgical cases, I started making masks for myself, family and friends. That expanded to friends of friends and just kept going.

My youngest daughter, an early childhood educator, has given me two adorable grandsons. She started me sewing Boppy covers, blankets, burp cloths and more. Those are sold under Nana Sews for Babies on Etsy and Facebook. With COVID-19 and the increased demand for masks and scrub caps, baby things ended up on hold. A few family members and friends occasionally get messages from me asking, "Which color?!" They are excellent advisors. One friend in particular, can be counted on to answer me long after the rest have gone to bed, even at 4 AM!
